Become a Mona Vale Community Member

Support your local surf life saving club and become a Community Member of Mona Vale SLSC. Relax each Friday and Sunday afternoon in our upstairs bar enjoying the best views in town over Mona Vale beach. We have a selection of beers on tap and a wine and cocktail menu to match. You are welcome to join us for a drink, or become one of our Community Members.

Your $50 joining fee will help keep your local community safe on the beach. You will be supporting your local Surf Life Saving Club and it’s volunteer life savers who patrol the beach every weekend from September until April. Funds raised are invested in member training courses, equipment supply and our Nippers program.

Our Community Members receive:

– Fortnightly newsletter to keep up-to-date with the club’s latest news, sponsors and activities

– 7.5% off all purchases from the bar (excluding meals)

How do I become a Mona Vale SLSC Community Member?

To become a Mona Vale SLSC Community Member you will need to complete the registration form (online), provide photo ID and pay an annual joining fee of $50.00 (valid from October to October each year). To receive your 7.5% discount you will need to show your membership card which can be collected from the office during office hours. 

Am I really making a difference?

Yes! Becoming a Mona Vale SLSC Community Member will help us invest in resources to maintain and improve our club.

We have over 240 patrolling members qualified in many different areas including first aid, beach rescue and resuscitation. Our members are constantly improving their skills by achieving more qualifications ranging from advanced training to member welfare and mental health. We continuously update our training and rescue equipment to be able to provide the best possible service to our community.

We also have over 300 children in our Nippers program who learn surf skills. Many, many of these nippers will grow up to be future life savers.

Can I use the surf clubs equipment?

As a Mona Vale SLSC Community Member our insurance cover does not allow this, however if you would like to become an active member of Mona Vale Surf Life Saving Club you are welcome to. Please review our membership options.

Can I use the surf clubs showers?

As a Mona Vale SLSC Community Member, you are not able to use the club showers. Shower access is limited to our Active members of Mona Vale Surf Life Saving Club. Please review our membership options.

Do I have to patrol the beach?

No, however if you would like to become a Surf Life Saver, please review our membership options.

How often can I visit Cook Terrace?

You are welcome every Friday afternoon from 4pm and every Sunday from 3pm in winter and 1pm in summer as visitors of Mona Vale Surf Life Saving Club. Please invite your friends and family to join you.

Can I bring my friends along if they are not Mona Vale SLSC Community Members?

Of course, everyone is welcome at Mona Vale Surf Life Saving Club.

Can I help with the BBQ or volunteer around the club?

As a Mona Vale SLSC Community Member our insurance cover does not allow this, however if you join Mona Vale Surf Life Saving Club you are welcome to. Please review our membership options.

Is there food available?

A small selection of snacks are available from the bar. Meals are available via the QR code on your table. Food is provided by the Basin Dining Room. Last orders at 7:30pm. View the menu.
